I first met Ms. Juliet when she was a little puppy newly adopted from Secondhand Hounds rescue (you can view her puppy images here). And now… she’s all grown up! It’s so fun to have puppy pictures to look back on – even more so when you can compare them to adult pictures. Juliet was such a pro in front of the camera and especially loved all the treats and attention.

I had the great honor of photographing Rocky and his sister Jorja this past winter. Their mom contacted me to set up a session since Rocky was dealing with several health issues and she wanted to make certain they got beautiful images of their boy while he was still feeling and acting like himself. Rocky was silly, bouncy, and happy for the session and absolutely loved the treats I brought for them. We had a narrow window of availability and while the weather and lighting weren’t the most cooperative, these gorgeous Boxers were so cooperative and expressive that we created some of my very favorite images (I think they knew how important this session was!).
Sadly, Rocky passed away a short time afterward – run free, handsome boy.
Despite the rain, we even got some images outside – I love this outtake!

I love to give back to local animal rescues by photographing adoptable animals to help them find their forever homes (and also fostering myself!). This Coonhound family is available for adoption through One Of A Kind Pet Rescue and has had a tough journey. Their dedicated fosters drove all the way to Kentucky to rescue them – poor mom was just a skeleton and the puppies were very sick. Their fosters (along with a small army of volunteers) took care of everyone around the clock and now they are happy, healthy, and ready for adoption! Momma is even getting a little chunky – yay!
These puppies (Duckie, Petrie, Hopper, Rooter, Little Foot, and Spike) were just a handful to photograph – so active, vocal, and full of attitude! It was such a treat to see everyone so healthy (and dare I say sassy?) and even Momma was feeling frisky and ran a few zoomies.
These puppies are all available for adoption on One of a Kind’s website (Momma will be available as soon as she is fully vetted). Do you remember Surly? I first photographed him when he was a tiny pup, and now he’s all grown up! Lake Calhoun is a very special place for Surly’s family and was the perfect location for their session.
