Nala | Minneapolis Pet Photography

I had the privilege of photographing Nala, a beautiful Great Dane-Greyhound cross.  She belongs to the owners of Canine Crossing, an awesome store in Ham Lake that carries the highest quality dog and cat food, fun toys, treats, beds, beautiful collars/leashes, and more!

Nala was adopted as a small puppy and is totally gorgeous!  I was told that she literally stops traffic when they go on walks, because she’s so stunning!

We did our session at a housing development that had a wooded path that was perfect for variety.  I love how the wet ground reflected the blue sky.

Nala found me irresistible when I got down on her level! 🙂

Zoey | Minneapolis Pet Photographer

We’re off to an excellent start on the new site for Karin Newstrom Photography.  I have received 33 entries for the pet photography session giveaway, and it’s only the second day!  I am incredibly touched by the stories of all the pets entered and the incredible amount of love and devotion shown for them by their owners.  I am also beyond thrilled to have multiple volunteer opportunities for different animals rescues present themselves–stay tuned for more on that!  If you work or volunteer for a rescue and have an idea of how professional pet photography could help your animals or organization, please send them to info@karinnewstrom.com.  Thank you!

I am also tickled at the number of Great Danes entered into the contest (five of them, each one a different color!).  I had a session recently with the wonderful Zoey, a Great Dane herself.  She is both wise and gentle beyond her years. It was an absolute pleasure to photograph her and the whole experience encouraged my dream of someday owning a really BIG dog.  Oh, and did I mention her amazing ears?  I promise you they were not manipulated in any way; her right ear perches precariously all by itself.  Please enjoy–especially to my Great Dane fans out there! 🙂

Taken in a studio?  Nope.  Just a gray wall in Zoey’s home!  I love when clients choose to have session in their home, because there are so many different background possibilities that will make your session truly unique.

Is it just me, or does Zoey look strikingly like Sam the Eagle in the picture on the left?  So stately!

I LOVE extreme doggy close-ups.  Would you have guessed her teeth were so dainty?

Thank you, Zoey, for having me over!  It was awesome getting to hang out with such a large, dignified dog. 🙂
