Hello, friends! Sorry for the brief lull in blog posting — I have been swamped photographing beautiful weddings, amazing dogs, editing like crazy, and trying to soak up every ounce of summer that I can. Can you believe it’s almost September? Me neither… I’ve also been preparing for an upcoming wedding in Jamaica (I cannot wait!) and worked on a few neat commercial projects. It’s be an excellent summer, although like always, it’s gone entirely too quickly!
In other news, Henry the Scottie no longer looks like the baby he was when we adopted him from Homeward Bound Rescue last April. I will be sure to post new images of him after he’s undergone his big-boy groom, but for now, enjoy these images of him as a baby (taken just a few days after being adopted). Big brother Ajax is no longer the larger of the two (!).

I am so, SO excited to be working with a burgeoning new business — Barkley’s Bistro! They produce chef-made treats made from locally-sourced, organic ingredients and sell them at local dog parks, food truck courts, and farmers’ markets from their mobile “barkery” (see below!). We had an amazingly fun shoot in Lowertown, St. Paul to get some great images for their website (soon to be launched!).
The Barkley’s team on the mobile barkery: Executive Chef Colin Murray, “Pack Leader” Karen Compton, Director of Sales and “Barketing” Jamie Compton, and Yorkie Molly.
I was a little hungry before the shoot and the treats did not help — they smelled so good! With flavors like Lamb Tagine and Chick ‘n Cheddar, I almost dug in, myself.

Chef Colin and Jamie. Such a fun, passionate team!

We took advantage of beautiful Mears Park to get some images of the treats and fun shots of some of Barkley’s biggest fans. Here’s Phoenix the Sheltie:

Peanut the Pekingnese (above), Porter the Bassett, and Mugsy the Pug.

Lestat (above) and a much larger friend, Kellen.

And of course, my pups had to get in on the fun. Henry sampled some treats from chef Colin himself while Ajax tested out the bike.

Congratulations on the very successful launch of your new business! Look for Barkley’s Bistro on the streets of the Twin Cities and soon will be for sale at select pet stores in the area. Find them on Facebook and Twitter at @barkleysbistro!
