Kirby | Minneapolis Pet Photography

I first got together with Kirby last month, but a heavily-clouded sky cut our session short.  We held out for a sunny evening and I’m so glad we did!  Kirby had a grand time playing with his favorite toy and posing in the glowing autumn sun.

This session was a birthday surprise from Kirby’s mom to his dad.  He specifically wanted some great action shots of Kirby, who was happy to run around for the camera!

Fun fact: most people assume Kirby is a black lab, but he is actually a Springer Spaniel x Husky x German Shepherd x Chow mix!  See the spots on his tongue?

Sailor the Goldendoodle | Minneapolis Pet Photography

I have never met a Goldendoodle I haven’t adored.  They all seem to possess this charisma and love for life – always wagging their tails and bouncing around.  Sailor the Doodle was no exception (I still have a hard time believing the fact she is 12 years old!).  Sailor greeted me with a toy in her mouth and was ready to play the entire session.  We starting out at her home in downtown Minneapolis, then ventured outside to the nearby Stone Arch Bridge area.

Sailor was so sweet, attentive, obedient, and adorable – a perfect combination!  She also really liked all the treats I brought, which always helps things go smoothly. 🙂  Sailor regularly attends daycare at Metro Dogs in the North Loop – one of my wonderful business partners.  If you need a place for your dog to stay while you are at work, a Twins game, or on vacation, I highly recommend them!

I think Sailor’s favorite part of the session was when she got to run toward me and get more treats!

What a good girl!  I can’t wait to show your mom the rest of your gallery!

Abe + Truman | Minneapolis Pet Photographer

I recently had the pleasure of photographing 6-month-old kitty brothers Abe and Truman in their home.  They were absolutely delightful to photograph!  The day was dark and gray outside, but thanks to large windows and prime lenses, we had no problem at all!

First up is Abe.

And Mr. Truman.

Everything is fascinating when you’re a kitten!

And we had to get some pictures with mom – she has such a radiant smile!

Mabel & Sir Edgar | Minneapolis Pet Photographer

Guess who?

That’s right, it’s Mabel Fern the Olde English Bulldogge!  Ms. Mabel was a runner-up in the TOP DOG contest and recently had her mini session.  Her mom wrote in her pre-session questionnaire: “Mabel Fern does not like cameras – she refuses to look at the camera. Good Luck.”

Well… I think we did just fine!  She even smiled for me. 🙂

Of course, her little puppy brother Sir Edgar had to come too!  He was filled with smiles and love for his big sis.

Our big goal was to get a picture of them together (since the whole “stay” concept is completely overrated) – I love their range of facial expressions!

Much fun was had by all!  Thanks bullies and congrats again to Mabel Fern and her followers!
