Sushi with your Dog | Stillwater Pet Photographer

This past Sunday, I had the pleasure of photographing a fundraiser for the Friends of Stillwater Area Dog Park (on Facebook, here!). The event took place at the Shanghai Bistro right on Main Street in Stillwater — they have one of the most beautiful patios I have ever seen and delicious food to match!

When I first saw Turley the Bulldog, I thought I recognized him. I found out from his owner that he was painted by artist Jessie Marianiello of Stray Dog Arts — a dog celebrity! Check out the gorgeous painting here.

Restaurant owner Henry Chan greets one of the guests — they had special house-made sushi just for the dogs!

Oscar has such a great smile — pink, flappy lips get me every time. He was a true gentle giant!

My knees make a special appearance in the above photo — the adorable Shih Tzu couldn’t stay away from me! Barney the Scottie and Nala were so sweet!

It was a hot and sunny day — Schmoozer the Golden was a little worn-out from the heat, but still adorable.

Barkley’s Bistro | St. Paul Pet Photographer

I am so, SO excited to be working with a burgeoning new business — Barkley’s Bistro! They produce chef-made treats made from locally-sourced, organic ingredients and sell them at local dog parks, food truck courts, and farmers’ markets from their mobile “barkery” (see below!). We had an amazingly fun shoot in Lowertown, St. Paul to get some great images for their website (soon to be launched!).

The Barkley’s team on the mobile barkery: Executive Chef Colin Murray, “Pack Leader” Karen Compton, Director of Sales and “Barketing” Jamie Compton, and Yorkie Molly.

I was a little hungry before the shoot and the treats did not help — they smelled so good! With flavors like Lamb Tagine and Chick ‘n Cheddar, I almost dug in, myself.

We took advantage of beautiful Mears Park to get some images of the treats and fun shots of some of Barkley’s biggest fans. Here’s Phoenix the Sheltie:

And of course, my pups had to get in on the fun. Henry sampled some treats from chef Colin himself while Ajax tested out the bike.

Speedy | Minneapolis Pet Photographer

To celebrate the launch of my new website, I held a contest to give away a free pet photography session. I was so touched by Speedy’s entry that I knew I had to choose him to receive a session, as well. Speedy was diagnosed with terminal cancer and is a very close companion to his human brother (his owner’s son). I am so happy that Speedy was a happy, bouncy pup at our session — he absolutely lit up for the camera! Afterward, his owner commented how much fun it was to see Speedy so full of life and energy — she was able to forget he was sick and enjoy their day together. 🙂

In addition to Speedy, I also got to meet Tinks the kitten (recently adopted from Homeward Bound) and Goldy the Cockatiel. It was a great day!

We started off with Tinks inside the house before heading across the street to a park. He was enjoying basking in the sunshine!

And this is Speedy! What a great smile. 🙂

We went to the top of a hill to take photographs against the beautiful, cloudy sky and Speedy had a fun romp down.

Speedy and his human brother — they truly share a special bond.

After the park, we went back inside where Goldy did some modeling for me — I’ve never met such a photogenic bird!

It was an honor meeting and photographing you, Speedy. You are such a good pup!

Taz the Olde English Bulldogge | St. Cloud Pet Photography

Regular readers of my blog have recently met Emma and Ole, and now it’s Taz’s turn! Taz (Tazwell, formally) is an Olde English Bulldogge with a happy-go-lucky attitude. He, at the golden age of 10.5 years old, is a typical bulldog — there was burping, drooling, flappy lips, and snorting. Unfortunately, he was found to have either prostatitis or prostate cancer, recently, but Azure swears he will be the most spoiled bulldog until his last day. 🙂 He had a ball romping around during the session and was practically asleep by the end of it!
